THE DEATH OF DEMOCRACY?
The word
democracy is over used and abused, in its true sense it is all about the
ability of the people of this fine nation to decide our countries destiny.
(Demos Cratos = the people rule)
Democracy over
recent years has been used to describe a variety of terms, social, electoral,
political and our system of justice.
Interestingly
many years ago as an Independent candidate, I had all my T/shirts printed with
the saying “Freedom, Justice and Democracy” are not negotiable, so all these
years later have they become “Negotiable” and why?
Electoral
democracy is about the free will of an informed electorate to choose who represents
us at a political level, Yet we are confronted with many “Musts” Must attend to
vote, Must have a preference for every candidate, but no musts in relation to
information or protections which would ensure a “free and informed democratic
process” in the most because those that write electoral law have the most to
gain from structural biases.
In recent
years elections have become the play ground of those who control the
legislation and the conduct, rather than a system that empowers our vote, with
dodgy practices like fake how to vote information, missing names and ballot
papers, lies and deceit have all become an acceptable part of what was once a fine
democratic process.
Social democracy
is about these same values, our ability as a people to craft the social
direction of our nation, which includes our ability to mould the way forward
both politically, socially and through our system of justice.
Judicial democracy
is all about our rights and liberties and applies to our ability to maintain
our common law and constitutional rights, and define them in line with our
social values.
Our Rights
and Liberties rather than coming from a bill of rights as found in many
nations, in Australia comes from our constitutional protections and those
defined by our common law rights, where a jury of our peers created precedents at
law.
Social
justice used to be a direct result of legal precedents, which by way of the use
of a jury kept pace with our social values, in lay terms, every judicial
finding became a part of our common law protections, sculpturing a legal system
to keep up with changes in society, the day legislative interference started to
override this system was the beginning of socialist intervention.
If we
continue to allow people who manipulate our electoral system to gain positions
of power, and wield that power to socially engineer our future based on their
own ideals and those of the corporate world who fund them, then we will no
longer have any power over the direction our nation heads, are you seeing a
picture here?
Where we
once enjoyed the protection of innocent until proven guilty, legislative
intrusion now tries to tell us we are guilty unless we have the resources to
prove our innocence, which now puts a dollar value on justice.
Where once
we were free to choose with whom we did or did not associate, we are now given
guide lines again by the interference of legislative social engineering.
The right to
remain silent, so as to not incriminate one’s self also comes under legislative
attack, yet those who write such legislation, seem to forget they are meant to
be employed and chosen by us to protect such natural rights.
The game
changer in regards to our once fine common law rights came the day trial by
jury became the sole domain of self interest, and lawyers took over crafting our
system of justice, a future based on politically chosen ideals of a legislative
nature, rather than the protections built upon issues of social justice .
Political
democracy in substance is about the way our country is run, based on debate by
those political representatives chosen by us to uphold the values and rights of
“we the citizens”
Many issues
impede our ability to claim we live in a democratic nation, electoral law now
written by a 2 party political system, that now more so empowers their own best
interests rather than the ideal of a free and informed vote, a constitution
that has not kept up pace with our society and political leaders who claim the
title of honourable even after using deceitful and dishonest practices to gain
the title.
Our common
law rights were based on a jury system which sculptured our system of justice
to compliment our social values, is now over ridden by legislation biased by
political and corporate self interest.
Since the
early 1990’s our political and legal system started to move in the direction of
our promises and signatories to United Nations declarations, rather than by way
of open and honest debate between we the people and our representatives, it
could be said this was the end of honest democracy in Australia.
It is
interesting to note that Agenda 21 is now adopted by every level of our
governance, yet rarely have we been privy to the words “Agenda 21” or at local
council level LA21, in fact any person who has tried to create open debate
about this issue in the most is labelled a conspiracy nut, yet the United
nations, our federal, State and local councils all include support it’s ideals as
if it has been our chosen agenda for over 2 decades.
One could
easily see this agenda alone as a major game changer and deliberate attempt to
undermine democracy, because a move in any direction for our country as a whole
that exclude’s our free choice, let alone deliberately excludes us from even a hint
of debate, raises issues of concern.
So an over
view of democracy in Australia is very frightening, we are denied educated and
free choice when it comes to who represents us, those chosen by this corrupted electoral system get away with the
use deceit and foul play to get there, they pledge allegiance to a political machine
not we the people, their party does the bidding of the corporate world, their
political donors and now heads our nation along a path chosen by a foreign
quasi world governmental body, what appears to seek the use of a communist
style path to a new social order.
Our
protections like that of the constitution and common-law rights are now excused
by those we elect to protect them, leaving us vulnerable to the self interest
of dubious people who appear to think they know what is best for us, yet hide
behind anonymity.
I think for
the democratic future of our nation we need to take a step back, we need to
readdress and define our rights and our system of democratic process. If those
we then choose by way of a free and informed choice, believe our future is best
supported by the adoption of United Nations declarations, best they make that
point known and inspire us as a people to support them, rather than run roughshod
over democracy.
It is
interesting to point out that those who back the ideal of a new world where we
all live equally in a communist style social utopia, have no interest in joining
us, but ruling from above. The very fact this is all spelled out in documents
easily found on a simple Google search and confirmed by all recent legislative
change in Australia, makes the labelling of we who demand open debate as
conspiracy theorists harder to swallow.
The adoption
of Agenda 21 some 20 years ago, was never done in an open and transparent
manner, and reading over the document, and its founding notes, unites its words
with the actions of every level of our governance, the control of land and
water, the diminishing of our rights and liberties, the control of our
democratic process, attacks on the rights of personal land ownership, changes
in our education system, even the ears of our representatives are now held by
people we never see nor elect.
People are quick
to question why we sell our vital land, water and infrastructure to foreign interests,
why our manufacturing has all but relocated to foreign shores, why our boarder
security is almost non-existent why we reduce funding to our health care and
education and send that money away in foreign aid or why the Labor government
are borrowing our nation into oblivion.
Maybe you
may wonder why elections have become all about the choices of two evils, or why
the cost of living is dragging us down to the levels of third world countries,
there are many questions worth asking, but don’t waste your time asking our
media or our supposed representatives, just read up on our future by researching
the document that now sculptures our children’s future, Agenda 21, and then ask
yourself “is this democracy” I for one say “NO BLOODY CHANCE”!
So is
Democracy dead? “I see it this way, we no longer have an electoral system that
allows true informed and free choice, those elected by this failed system attack
our fundamental rights and liberty’s, while undermining our system of justice
and social values. These same people support a direction for our country which is
written and enforced by a foreign entity not chosen by we the people, nor are
we allowed open and honest debate on this agenda”.....that to me is the death
of Democracy.
